White with tan/gray chevron pattern over body; rear body and tail deep yellow/orange; thick black band through eye; black spot on rear dorsal fin; normally with thin yellow filament trailing from dorsal fin. Like most butterflyfishes, once finding a mate, they may pair up for life. Attempts at captive breeding have been unsuccessful.
