Potter’s Angelfish
Deep orange on head, back and varying amounts on belly; transitioning to deep blue/black from head to tail. Entire body overlaid with irregular narrow gray/blue bars. Potter’s Angelfish occur only in Hawaii. Despite aquarium trade acknowledgment of their fragility and extremely poor chances of captive survival, over 10,000 are captured on Hawaii’s reefs each year. Some aquaculture success has been achieved at the experimental level only.
