Purple/violet from head to mid-body; rear half yellow; deep red to black diagonal line from lower lip through eye; dark spot on forward edge of dorsal fin. Similar color pattern to Bicolor Dottyback which lacks the eye line and dorsal fin spot. Most sold in the aquarium trade are wild-caught.
