Young and males bright orange or red, darkening to maroon or mahogany red with age or becoming female. All with 3 narrow white to grey to gold bars. Captive-bred clownfish can survive without a host anemone but do require a small structure for a sense of security. With proper care these fish can live for 20 – 30 years.
